Which models are eSIM compatible?

The easiest way to check if your iPhone or Android phone is eSIM compatible is to call "*#06#" using the default phone app on your iPhone or Android phone. eSIM compatible phones will display the EID (32 digits). If you have a smartphone, you will see the EID (32 digits) when you make a call. eSIM can be used both domestically and internationally once the EID is confirmed.

CAN I USE VOICE CALLS AND SMS USING MY PHONE NUMBER?

Currently, JapanConnect eSIM does not offer plans with a phone number; please use LINE, Skype, or other internet-based calling services.

When is the best time to install an eSIM?

You can install it after you arrive overseas or while you are in Japan. However, if you are in a country supported by the Round-the-Asia Plan or Round-the-World Plan, your data plan may start counting. (A stable WiFi environment is required to install the eSIM.)

Does the data plan I purchased have an expiration date?

The validity period is 60 days from the date of purchase; use must begin within 60 days.
